About this course
Foundation Course Part 1&2
Suitable for whom? An intensive course for those learners who have completed the Entry level course and who also want to complete Foundation level Part 1 and 2 in a year
Which course book? Cwrs Sylfaen (South Wales Version)
Which units? 1-27
Number of sessions? 32
Course format? 2.5 hours a week in a virtual class and also independent learning online at home between each lesson. (The independent learning is a compulsory part of the course)
Teaching method? Online
What will you learn?:
- The main emphasis is on speaking the language, with an opportunity to discuss every day topics including family and friends, work and interests.
- General revision with particular emphasis on the past tense
- Express a wish or intention (the conditional tense)
- Talking about being born and brought up
- Expressing an opinion (I think that…)
- Learn how to use propositions
- Express an intention, offer to do something and ask a favour
- Discuss where you will go in the future
- Asking for and giving permission
- Discuss periods of time
- Describing people and things
- Comparison of adjectives
- Exchanging factual and personal information
- Giving directions
- Practising answers
- Learn how to give advice (I should…)
- Express a wish and the ability to do something (I would like…, I could…)
- Learn ordinals
- Revise different forms of the past tense
- Revise the future tense
- Complete reading, listening and written tasks
- Prepare for sitting the Foundation level examination (optional)
