Suitable for whom? For those learners who have completed the Higher Course iii Part 1 or who are familiar with the main language patterns and also, for those who want to sit the Higher level examination

Course format? 3 hours a week (including weekly homework)

What will you learn?:

• Develop and improve your speaking skills
• Enjoy reading, watching and listening pieces which come from Welsh language books and magazines and from programmes on S4C and Radio Cymru
• Discuss themes (Translation the Bible. Welsh Movements (Mudiad Meithrin, Merched y Wawr), Welsh people in Patagonia, The Old North and Welsh Poetry, Christmas and New Year Customs in Wales)
• Discuss hot topics
• ‘Knowledge of the Language’ tasks – paraphrasing, choosing the correct form, fill in the blanks
• Formal Welsh
• Discuss ‘mae’, ‘sy’, ‘ydy/yw’
• Revise prepositions
• Using ‘yn’ and ‘mewn’
• Revising adjectives

• Contractions – ‘wedi’i’ / ‘wedi’u’ / pronouns
• Gender of Nouns
